AMERICAN IMPERIALISM  

American Imperialism is the exercise of its control outside the borders through proxy war and funds weapons to its ally.

IRAN

 Israel started a military action called “Operation Rising Lion” which was against the military actions in Iran. Eventually , Iran retaliated through suicide drones. 

      The operation was also interfered with by the United States of America.There was the launch of “Operation of Severe Punishment” in the strait called Hormaz which stopped the trade routes for America and Israel. 

        China is dependent on Iran for the export of 90% of oil.Thus China supports Iran with military defence.Thus America and China might cause conflict for their benefit through trade in the future.

        

HISTORY -IRAN

Iran was controlled by the Shah which aimed to modernize  .There was a protest to overthrow him which became successful and Khomenei  asserted power during the Islamic Revolution.He was accused by the United States of America for  disrupting women’s freedom and democracy .There was also no establishment of secularism.It was  claimed that people were forced to convert into Islam

           Funding opposition in 1953 to the Shah for overthrowing the regime was another major step by the U.S. propaganda to shape public opinion through mass media. Economic sabotage through which sanctions are imposed for America to control Iran.

IRAQ:-

         In the 1991 Iraq invaded Kuwait. The USA responded by declaring war against Iraq. Gulf war,the US led coalition won the battle.It liberated Kuwait and forced Iraqi withdrawal with extensive air strikes.The conflict ended with a ceasefire.Iraq was forced to accept UN-mandated terms including sanctions and returning stolen property.However,the Ba’ath Party managed to retain power.  

Military intervention in Iraq by the US and UK in the pretext of creating nuclear weapons and overthrowing Saddam Hussain is another example of American imperialism.The United Nations  found no evidence of weapons of mass destruction and the US gained control of the oil field in Iraq.

Also Bill Clinton ordered the bombing of several Iraqi military installations called Operation Desert Fox.After several years,slowly neighbouring countries sought to reopen trade with Iraq.

In 2002 the US president George W Bush again argued the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction and its support to terrorist groups al-Qaeda. He declared an end to diplomacy and issued an ultimatum to Saddam .It was criticised by France,Germany,Russia and other countries. In 2003 US invaded Iraq, Killed Saddam Hussein and installed a puppet government. The collapse of Saddam Hussein Government created a power vacuum in Iraq. This led to a civil war conflict between Sunni and Shia tribes. It took several years for the violence to subside.

VENEZUELA

    Venezuela has the largest oil reserve in the world called Zumaque Strait along with inflation(the rise in prices).The oil production was nationalised by Carlos Andres Perez which led to the loss of profit for American companies dependent on Venezuela’s oil trade for their economy.

         But Hugo Chavez adopted the socialism principle where the government focused on the development of the poor. People relied only on mining called the Dutch Disease  .Eventually  Venezuela becoming a petro economy.While for agriculture,he was dependent on the neighbouring countries. Government began to fund for healthcare,literacy campaigns,housing etc.  But internal conflict was used by the superpowers for proxy wars.         The policy was simple .To distribute money to the poor.But this only works when the oil production is high otherwise the social programmes would not serve any benefit to the government . It led to the downfall of the economy and Maduro was held responsible and sanctions were imposed by the president Barack Obama.During Maduro’s rule there was corruption because there was no opposition left to compete.Oil production was depleted due to greed and power while constantly against the American government. 

The US also wanted regional dominance with natural interest which shows America’s imperialism as Donald Trump as well imposed sanctions and captured Maduro with the claim to protect democracy,development and stability against dictatorship.

Conclusion:-

USA has interfered in the internal affairs several oil and resource rich countries on the pretext of promoting democracy, human rights etc. But its sole intention is only to control resources primarily oil and recently rare earth minerals. This has caused severe instability in these nations, caused civil wars and several lives were lost.

We need a multipolar world where decisions are made by the people of the countries instead of unilaterally decided by few powerful nations.
